Shanghai and Hangzhou, in two days
City and lake
The shape of the day
Two days is enough to see why Shanghai and Hangzhou belong in the same trip. We keep the first day urban and the second green: a lake walk, a temple, a tea village and a drive back that avoids the worst of the evening traffic.
What makes it different
- A Shanghai day built around your interests, not a fixed circuit.
- West Lake at the quiet end, with a boat or a walk.
- Lingyin Temple and the tea hills around Longjing.
- One hotel change, handled by us.
Step by step
Day 1 · Shanghai
A private city day: the Bund, the old city and the French Concession, or a different mix if you have been before. In the late afternoon, transfer to Hangzhou by car or high-speed rail.
Day 2 · Hangzhou
West Lake before the tour buses, then Lingyin Temple and a tea village in the hills. Lunch locally, and return to Shanghai in the late afternoon — or stay another night if the lake gets you.
Included
- Private vehicle and driver for both days
- Licensed guide in your language
- One night in a selected 4-star hotel with breakfast
- Hotel pickup and all transfers
- Route planning and reservations
Not included
- Entrance tickets
- Meals and drinks
- Gratuities
- Personal expenses
Good to know
- Hangzhou is 1 hour from Shanghai by high-speed rail, or about 2 hours 15 by car.
- West Lake is a large area; we choose the quiet side rather than the busiest promenade.
- Lingyin Temple is busy at weekends; an early start is worth it.
